How to Get Budling Evomon — Verdant Valley Grass Line

Catch Budling on Verdant Valley, evolve Florawn → Silvanarch, and why it is not the Leafbun starter. Optional Grass filler — verify stones in Evolve UI.

Quick answer

Budling is a Verdant Valley Grass wild (~Lv 6–15), listed next to Pebble on our map sheet — not the lab starter. Evolve Budling → Florawn → Silvanarch. That is a separate Grass project from Leafbun → Leafroge → Leafblade. Purp’s starter ranking says Leafbun is easy to replace with later Grass; our C-tier notes call Budling / Silvanarch a skip unless you like the design. We found no dedicated Budling YouTube or TikTok — location comes from the map sheet, not a named clip.

Budling line at a glance

Dex order is #034 Budling → #035 Florawn → #036 Silvanarch, all Grass. Community combat data: Budling is a tiny seed (HP 42 / Spe 45, Regen in the trait pool); Silvanarch is the special-leaning wall (Sp. Def 102, Speed 90).

If you searched leafbun and landed here: Leafbun is the lab Grass starter. Budling is the route wild on Verdant Valley. Dex pages: BudlingFlorawnSilvanarch.

Where to catch Budling

Our map zones chart places Budling as a Verdant Valley wild in the Lv 6–15 band with Pebble / Pebroll / Pebgolem. Beginner guide routes you through Verdant first for the Pebble tank — grab Budling on the same island while you farm Pebble, then leave.

GainZ’s beginner YouTube covers the early islands and starter trio (Bubble / Blazpup / Leafbun) without a Budling-named segment we can timestamp. Same for Purp’s starter ranking: Grass talk is about Leafbun, not this wild seed. No dedicated TikTok turned up in search. If a clip only shows “Grass on the first island,” that could be Leafbun or Budling — do not guess from a blurry sprite.

Tier-list region vs map sheet

Our C-tier row loosely tags Budling / Silvanarch to the early Grass region. The spawn we trust is Verdant Valley on the map sheet, not Petal Pond (that island is Mopebun / Clampip).

Budling vs Leafbun — which Grass?

Purp’s ALL 3 STARTERS RANKED video argues Leafbun is the easiest starter to replace because better Grass shows up on the route. Budling/Silvanarch is one of those route Grass options — and our tier list still calls it weak filler in most community rankings.

Practical split: keep Leafbun only if you locked Grass at the lab and still want Leafblade. Catch Budling for dex/EXP on Verdant. Do not dump two Grass stone piles. Pebble’s Rock tank on the same island is the early-carry that early route and the Pebble guide actually fund.

  • Catch Budling while looping Verdant with Pebble.
  • Evolve Silvanarch only if you still need a Grass special wall.
  • Skip stones if Leafbun or later Tarragon already covers Grass.

Evolution costs — labeled, not invented

Path is consistent on our dex: Budling → Florawn → Silvanarch. Third-party GCZ evolution cards report Lv 35 + 10 Evolution / 10 Grass into Florawn, then Lv 90 + 30 Evolution / 25 Grass into Silvanarch — the same pattern Gamezebo/GCZ use on starters. We do not treat those as final. Open Evolve in-client.

Silvanarch’s job on our dex copy is a Sp. Def wall, not a speed carry. Fund it after Pebble and your starter water/fire project are stable.
