Knocking out and running does not raise prismatic pity. You must catch the Evomon for prismatic count to increase.
Always catch if you want eggs
Eggs drop from catches after defeating a target — not from KO-and-run. Shiny eggs are the reliable path for several boss species.
Shiny pity can tick from farming KOs
Community guides differ on whether shiny pity alone advances without catching — catching is still safest because it also rolls eggs and prismatic pity.

Creator guides agree this is an advanced pity-stack method, not an official guarantee table. If you accidentally catch a prismatic before 149, the prismatic counter can reset and you need to rebuild it.

After you defeat an Evomon in battle, catching it can drop an egg. Boss lines are special: many do not have normal shiny pity — shiny eggs are the main path.
Guaranteed S-tier talent on hatch (community reports; triple SSS not confirmed from eggs alone).
Farm low-level routes for volume.
Hatches a guaranteed shiny of that species.
Use a Prismatic Ball when hatching to force prismatic appearance on the shiny.
Only way to shiny hunt certain bosses (e.g. flying/thunder kings) — no shiny pity on the boss itself.
